The Health Hydro and Thermal Spa based in Leicestershire has been training its current and new staff  members through a variety of courses in partnership with Leicester College, most notably on Apprenticeship Training.

The courses include everything from Intermediate Apprenticeships in Professional Cookery, Hospitality Services, Customer Services, Sports, Painting and Decorating, Hairdressing to Advanced Apprenticeships in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership and a Diploma in Management.

In many cases, after the completion of their respective courses, members of staff have progressed further with their careers.

Among the success stories is that of Isla Parmar. Isla completed her Intermediate Apprenticeship in NVQ Diploma Level 2 in Professional Cookery. She is now working as a Commis Chef at Ragdale Hall. She said: “I went straight from school to work. I thought of my future and I know my apprenticeship will benefit me in the long-term.”

Clair Homewood, Assistant Personnel Manager at Ragdale Hall said: “We have a fantastic relationship with Leicester College. From the very beginning they have been extremely supportive and understanding of the needs of our business and the level of training our apprentices have received from their assessor is outstanding.”

Tony Jordan, Lead Trainer for Hospitality and Leisure at Leicester College, has been providing training at Ragdale Hall for over seven years.

He adds: “We have built up a great relationship with the staff and management at Ragdale Hall over the years and we will continue to work closely alongside them to deliver flexible training programmes that are built around their business needs.

“Our partnership works very well and I look forward to it continuing to grow in the future.”
