This qualification provides the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in adult health and social care provision or in children and young people’s services. The aim is to guide and assess the knowledge and skills relating to the Children and Young People’s senior workforce. If you work in this sector, in a managerial role, this is the ideal qualification for you. You may be looking to develop your career, possibly into management within the broader context of the Children and Young People’s sector. The list of those who would benefit from this course is long and varied; you might also be an assistant or deputy manager, or a manager who has not yet achieved a recognised vocational qualification at this level.
The course is made up of many different units. These will include, • Use and develop systems that promote communication • Promote professional development • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion • Develop health and safety and risk management procedures, policies and practices • Working in partnership in Childcare settings • Undertaking research with the service for children and young people • Lead and manage a team within a children and young people’s setting • Develop professional supervision practice in a children and young people’s setting
All applicants will be expected to hold a Level 3 childcare qualification (BTEC/CACHE etc). GCSE English grade C is required (or Functional Skill L2). All applicants must have at least 3 years post qualification experience from their L3 Childcare/Early Years qualification.
