This course is for adults aged 19+. The course is a basic introduction to the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator 2017.
This course is aimed at all those who want to learn the leading vector-based graphics programme Adobe Illustrator CC at a beginners’ level. The course can support designing website, graphics, logos, illustrations, information graphics, maps and other vector graphics-based design.
This course is an adult-only course for 19-year-olds. If you are 18 or under and are interested in this course, please contact the digital media department.
What You'll Learn
The course will cover basic set up and interface and all the basic tools and palettes including L selections, pen tools, anchor points and paths, layers, shapes, formatting, fill and stroke and some advanced features.
You will produce a range of simple shape and logo elements, building into simple compositions. You will also learn to understand the concept of anchor points and control handles as well as stroke and fill, as well as the fundamentals of the pen tool and some advanced shape and pathfinder features.
There are no entry criteria apart from a keen interest in graphic and the use of vector graphics.
How you will be assessed
There is no assessment on the course. Students can negotiate their own designs.

There are no additional costs apart from an online cloud account or memory stick to store personal work.

What Happens Next
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
