The course has been primarily designed for those people working within the electrotechnical industry who have recently completed their 17th edition Amendment 3: 2015 qualification (eg. City Guilds 2382-15 or an equivalent). This course is available in a classroom for half day/evening and provides an overview of the changes to the 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. You will be given a self-study pack. However, please note that you will still be required to undertake the full two-hour summative assessment on the full content of the regulations. This course is for adults aged 19+.
This is a full cost course. There is no fee remission available and you cannot apply for an advanced learner loan to pay for your fees.
What You'll Learn
The IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) are the definitive standards for the electrical industry in respect of safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. They set requirements and operating criteria for the UK and correspond to EC standards and are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS 7671).
Be able to read and use the Current IET regulations BS7671:2018 and have use of a copy of BS7671:2018
How you will be assessed
One multiple choice online test of 60 questions.120 minutes are allowed. This is an open book assessment

If you are aged 19 or over there is no government funding available for this course. However you may be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan for the course fee.
Course and Career progression
It allows candidates to progress into employment or to the following City Guilds qualifications: level 3 2365, 2391 inspection and testing electrical courses require you hold a current version of the 18th Edition wiring Regulations prior to undertaking them. The BS7671:2008 forms part of the Electrical Competent person scheme.
