After the announcement from Matt Hancock on 16 July 2020, it’s more important than ever to celebrate the community here in Leicester and to be proud of our city.

The University of Leicester’s Vice-Chancellor is working in partnership with the CEO of Leicester City Football Club and the Bishop of Leicester, on a celebration of community spirit in Leicester and Leicestershire from Friday 17 July until Sunday 19 July.

Headed by Professor Nishan Canagarajah, Susan Whelan, and Bishop Martyn Snow, Together In Hope will highlight messages of encouragement and the many acts of kindness and concern for one another that have been springing up during lockdown.

Using the hashtags #TogetherInHope and #WeAreLeicester institutions, including Leicester College, will be sharing videos, art, and photos celebrating all we can do during the lockdown and all we stand for as a city.
