Coronavirus update: HE teaching

Leicester College Statement

In response to the current public health issues facing the UK and in line with the University sector, Leicester College has decided to suspend face to face HE teaching (lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials) from Thursday 19 March.

This means that any scheduled classes will not be offered on Thursday and Friday of this week.

From Monday 23 March, the College and HE teaching teams will look to deliver more teaching and learning content on a remote basis through digital platforms. This online delivery could include contact by email, through Moodle or other specific channels available to lecturers. This format of teaching will continue until we break up on Friday 3 April. Higher education students should regularly check emails, Smart Assessor and/or Moodle for information from the College or from your lecturers. We anticipates that, as undergraduates, high levels of independent learning will be applied by all students.

Currently all three Leicester College campuses remain open and non-HE teaching continues. Leicester College libraries and DMU Kimberlin Library are currently open, however, this situation may change.

Please check out website and/or DMU website before travelling to access these facilities.

We will continue to work with our partners to explore in more detail how we can adjust learning and assessment timelines. Please be assured that in terms of assessment and attendance processes the we will work hard to ensure that no one is disadvantaged by the current situation.

If you have any questions, please email the College.

Kully Sandhu – Vice Principal for HE and Adult and Community, and Tina Thorpe – Vice Principal for Study Programmes and Apprentices.
