Craig, 26, is to receive the Plumbing Apprenticeship Award at the annual Construction Presentation Awards at his college on 25th June.

The award is given to one student from each course who the course leaders feel has shown particular dedication and skill throughout the year.

Programme Lead in Plumbing at Leicester College, Rajesh Patel, said: “Craig has earned this recognition because of his dedication and self-motivation in all areas.

“Craig joined the group late but has worked extra hard to catch up on the work missed and is now in front in practical. He always wants to better himself and can work well in a group or on his own.”

Craig works alongside an installation engineer on projects mainly in the South West region. He supports the installation of both biomass and heat pump projects, four days a week, with his fifth day spent studying at Leicester College.

Craig’s Lead Engineer said: “Since starting work with me just under a year ago, Craig has shown real dedication to learning his craft and has always been very hard-working and motivated.

“I’m very proud but not surprised of this award recognition as he is such a fast learner with a very bright future ahead.”
