Leicester College is to host the regional heat of SkillBuild 2018, a competition to discover the best construction students in the country.
The competition, which is always a highlight in the construction calendar, is organised by the Construction Industry Training Board (citb) and will take place at our Freemen’s Park Campus, 28 June 2018. On the day, the College will host teams from other colleges, and in addition to representatives from citb, there will also be local construction companies in attendance to promote careers in the sector, talk to students and staff and demonstrate tools and equipment. Those students who are successful on the day will go through to the SkillBuild final and from there to the Word Skills competition.
Construction courses at Leicester College include: built environment; brickwork; carpentry/joinery; electrical installations; painting and decorating; plastering and plumbing. All of our specialist courses are designed to give students the skills they need to work in the construction industry. We also have university-level courses.
