Enrolment takes place between Thursday 23 August and Saturday 1 September, for courses starting from Monday 3 September 2018. You must come to College to complete your enrolment to secure your place on your chosen course. If you don’t enrol you may lose the offer of a place.
When do I need to come in to enrol?
Different subject areas enrol on certain days and times. You will have received a letter telling you where to go and at what time. Please do your best to attend on the day and at the time specified. You will then enrol with people who will be studying on the same course as you.
What do I need to bring with me?
There are a few things that you must bring with you to enrolment. If you don’t have these things with you we may not be able to complete your enrolment. You will then have to come back another day.
You will need:
- Your exam certificates.
- Proof of ID, such as your passport, driving licence or birth certificate.
- Money to pay for your course (if you have to pay for your fees and haven’t already paid online) or material fees (these are shown on the course on the website). You can pay by cash, credit or debit card, or cheque (we do not accept American Express).
What will happen at enrolment?
At enrolment, you course tutor will check that you meet the entry requirements for the course. This is why it is important that you bring along your exam certificates. If you meet the entry requirements you will be able to enrol onto the course. If you do not meet the entry requirements don’t worry. We will talk to you about different courses that might be suitable for you, such as a course in the same subject area but at a different level.
- If you have to pay fees and have not already paid them you must pay them at enrolment.
- You will have your photo taken for your ID badge.
- You should have completed your enrolment in around an hour.
What should I do if I can’t come at the time in my letter?
You should try your best to come to the enrolment session detailed in your letter. If you are not able to come to College on the day and time stated please call us on 0116 224 2240 and we will do our best to reschedule an enrolment appointment for you. Do not just turn up at a different time as we may not be able to see you.
What happens if I don’t get the GCSE grades I was predicted?
Even if you haven’t got the grades which you were predicted still come to the enrolment session in your letter. We can talk to you about alternatives and careers advisors will be available if you need more detailed advice.
How can I pay for my course and material fees?
If you have to pay for your course you can pay online when you complete your online registration. This is the quickest and easiest way to pay, and will save you time when you come into College to complete your enrolment. Alternatively, you can pay by card, cheque or cash in College. If you have successfully applied for an Advanced Learner Loan you should bring your letter with you to enrolment. If you are an adult who earns less than £15,736 a year you may be eligible for free course fees.
I’ve not applied for a course can I still enrol?
If you have not already applied to study at Leicester College you will not be able to enrol. You should first look at our courses and make an application. Please do this as soon as possible so that you can still be invited to enrol.
I’m not sure what I want to do. Can I get some advice?
We have a team of specialist and independent careers advisors who can talk to you about your options and help you progress successfully into further or higher education, employment or training. During enrolment the team are offering a drop-in service at all three of our campuses. The service is running at different times on different days and so take a look at the enrolment timetable.
What happens after enrolment?
When you have enroled you will be given an induction timetable, your ID badge, free access to Office 365 (which gives you an email address, a TB of storage and five downloads including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote).
Term starts on Monday 3 September so you should come to College as per the induction timetable you will have been given.
